About ISEB

The International Society for Educational Biography (ISEB) is an organization dedicated to the exploration of biography in writing, teaching, research, and other professional endeavors. Related research often includes collective biographies, the role of biography in the history of education, biography and fiction, general biography, plot structures of biographies. Biographic criticism, publishing biographies, feminist approaches to life writing, oral history, experimental approaches, ethical issues, autobiographical research, narrative research, methodology, and the use of biography in classroom instruction. Our organization publishes an international peer-reviewed journal which we have developed for close to 40 years. We are a generative space for publishing manuscripts focusing on educator’s lives and lives that are educative in all of their forms. We welcome manuscripts, creative essays, methodological engagements, and book reviews that explore the intersections between life writing and education, weather biography, testimonio, narrative inquiry, autoethnography, or other rich forms of inquiry.
