INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR EDUCATIONAL BIOGRAPHY
The
International Society for Educational Biography (ISEB) is an
organization dedicated to the exploration of biography in
writing, teaching, research, and other professional
endeavors. Related research often includes collective
biographies, the role of biography in the history of
education, biography and fiction, general biography, plot
structures of biographies. Biographic criticism, publishing
biographies, feminist approaches to life writing, oral
history, experimental approaches, ethical issues,
autobiographical research, narrative research, methodology,
and the use of biography in classroom instruction. You can find our

Our organization
publishes an international peer-reviewed journal which we
have developed for close to 40 years. We are a generative
space for publishing manuscripts focusing on educator’s
lives and lives that are educative in all of their forms.
We welcome manuscripts, creative essays, methodological
engagements, and book reviews that explore the
intersections between life writing and education, weather
biography, testimonio, narrative inquiry, autoethnography,
or other rich forms of inquiry. Direct all submissions and
questions to the editor.
The
International Society for Educational Biography
(I.S.E.B.) invites proposals for its annual
conference, to be held in partnership with The Society
of Philosophy and History of Education
(S.O.P.H.E.), October 5-7, 2023, at the Courtyard by
Marriott Oklahoma City Downtown in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
